***A Little Poetry To Brighten the Day....***

I don't know if many of you know I have been a published poet way longer than a published Author. I was sharing some of my poetry with a dear friend and she said she absolutely loved the following poem. It is also one of my favorites, and since my last post was not as uplifting as I normally post, ( Thank you all for your prayers and support it means the world to me and my family) I thought I would share this and hope it brings you the peace it always brings to me when I read it...

       My Ray Of Light

Through all the hard times in my life,
Through all the good times too,
There's been one constant, solid source,
My ray of light...You.

You guide me through lifes' valleys,
You protect me from lifes' wrath,
You lead me in the right direction,
      Along lifes' bumpy path.

For I am just a tiny piece,
In a puzzle that's so grand,
But still in all I'd lose my place,
            Without Your guiding hand.

So though I cannot see at times,
And I stumble through the night,
I'm always sure I'll find my way,
For I have my ray of light....

This next poem is a perfect example of the Holy Spirit preparing us, what is eerie is this was written and published in  March of 2000.

A Solemn Promise
What's going on, what's taking place,
smiles gone, and now replaced
With looks of horror, shear disbelief,
for all life's joy has turned to grief.
Jobs are scarce, money too,
come month's end the rent is due.
Parents work, still not enough,
all around things are tough.
Lets not forget the little ones,
who played with toys and switched to guns.
They go to school but cannot learn,
gangs and drugs are their concern.
We seek an answer, it's all so strange,
oh how much our world has changed.
We can't give up, we must not quit,
until our torch within is lit.
Not til then can our world be one,
only then...will our job be done.

Our Savior left us with the Holy Spirit to Guide us, protect us, and shine through the dark to light our way. I pray that these poems lighten your heart and spirit, and may you have a fruitful, peaceful and safe weekend.
May God bless you and your loved ones and continue to hold you in His loving embrace...Patricia

  3. Hi Patricia :) Thank you so much for the poems. My husband and I were just talking about what God's future for us entailed. We are waiting for a definite word from Him in a particular matter, and your poems-especially the first one, gave me peace. The second poem is more assuredly truthful than we wish it were. We must protect our homes, family and children with vigilance and prayer. :)

  4. Beautiful! You have such a thoughtful caring spirit.
These poems could make some wonderful songs. My daughter loves to write poety, usually Spirit filled and directed......I sense that here as well.

    Blessings and still praying,

  5. I've been following a poet and I didn't know it!! These are quite good, the last one is eerily predictive, and RIGHT on the mark!!! I love poetry and have written quite a bit here and there, but of course never been published. What a special post this is today!

  6. I love your blog and you poetry. I love to write and I loved the New Earth also. It seems we already have a connection ;-)

I love the Poem about the Holy Spirit. I am in Law Enforcement and you are so right, the kids have traded in toys for "real guns and gangs."

It makes me sad for our society that we are forced to somewhat live in fear of our younger generation and can't be as laid back "so to speak" like we once were in the past.

Crime, death and destruction is here to tell us something about His return and I only pray that if you still have breath and are not already apart of His Kindom, get on board people, it's almost time.

Love and peace and such a joy visiting you!
    Make it a great weekend,
    Free Spirit

  7. Poems tell a story that convey a thought to be pondered in relationship to life, in order to bring light through wisdom. The road that the Lord has put us on in this pilgrimage journey to the promised kingdom of heaven is surely a bumpy road and to pretend that it is not is to miss the "good" works that our Heavenly God prepared for us. We are here for a reason, for a purpose, for a mission. I see in these poems: "See it. Don't miss it. The Lord is with us. Trust the Lord. Focus on the Light of Christ; not the road. Be active in it. Thanks for sharing. Thank you for being a blessing.

  8. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil. More relevant today than 2000 years ago? Thy rod and staff comfort me and I shall walk in thy light all the days of my life, even though I still stumble sometimes. Glad you are a bit more "UP". Love, Geoff.

  9. You have a nice rhythm in your poems, sort of like a Dr. Seuss kind of thing. I love that!
