****Beauty and Joy Surround Us Everyday****

I know in our hectic lives that we sometimes don't take notice of the everyday beauty God surrounds us with. We take for granted that crystal clear water we so easily get from our faucets, I myself never gave it much thought until my water pump went and I had NO water for 2 days. I couldn't shower, cook, flush my toilet, I thought, Wow, how blessed we are to have such a wonderful thing as clean water to drink and bathe in. In so many countries water is truly an issue and I sometimes too, forget to give thanks for the things we use and see everyday.

For instance, this morning when I awoke I opened my curtains and the sky was crystal clear as the blues, pinks, and purples played as a backdrop to this Glorious winter sunrise in the Northeast. In so many parts of our own country and the world, clear skies and sunshine are minimal. I love dawn and dusk, my two favorite times of the day.

In the dawn hours when I read my Bible I am enveloped by Gods loving arms in His sunrise and glistening snow in the winter, or His bright green buds of the birth of spring. In the summer mornings I sit on my porch and watch my deer and bunnies come out for their morning meal, and in fall His amazing perfection of the true vibrant colors of His beautiful trees.

At dusk as the sun sets and the skies take on these awesome range of color's I just say to myself now this is true beauty, what a "perfect" way to end a day in which to reflect.

I know we've all heard the expression " stop and smell the roses" but have we really given serious thought to the meaning behind the words? For me, it simply means to slow down and appreciate the everyday beauty God has painted as a backdrop for the Mountains and Vallie's of life.

I love looking out my window and seeing the Majestic strength and beauty of the mountains I live in.

Sometimes I walk around and just say Thank you Father for giving me my little cottage surrounded by your beautiful portrait.... So today I would love to hear what beauty surrounds you, and what is it that brings you joy? I hope you have a fruitful and blessed day, and that you all find a minute or two to just soak in some of Gods amazing artwork God Bless you all and May He continue to keep you all in His loving embrace Patricia©....xx

  3. My thoughts are very much the same as yours in regard to the old adage. We are surround by God's beautiful works and I am very thankful for them. It does make a nice background for the "Mountains and Valley's of life." Dawn and dusk are also my favorite times of day. I love the stillness which brings a sense of peace. Dawn is also my favorite time to pray and read my Bible because my mind is fresh and open and not cluttered with what may or may not have occurred during the day.

Thank you for your wonderful post today reminding us to stop and smell the roses!

  5. What a wonderful post. I do so enjoy the beauty that surrounds us. I love sitting out in the yard swing looking at it all. In the cold winter months I enjoy looking at it through the window. There is beauty everywhere and in everything if we just take the time to see it. There are so many little things of beauty that we miss if we do not slow down and take the time to see and enjoy them. I really enjoyed reading this post. Hugs and blessings!

  7. How true! We never miss what we have until it's gone. We should tell the people we love that we love them daily. We never know what tomorrow will bring.

  9. For a little writing prompt I play with, I stuck my bald head out the front door of our building where I work, and snapped a winter photo... I don't care for the cold, but I love winter for mornings like this: www.sobernuggets.blogspot.com

I'm with you on the importance of taking time to connect with God.
