It's a New Year but What About a New Day

I think it's wonderful that everywhere around the world there is such a huge celebration of hope and new beginnings annually. What puzzles me to some degree is why we don't remember that each day we awake, is a hopeful beginning.

We get to truly make each day a brand new day; how amazing is that? We get to let go of all that may have gone wrong, all that we may have handled badly, and tell ourselves that we can do things better today.

Those of us who believe, know that we've been forgiven, but at times we forget that very important fact and we find it hard to forgive ourselves keeping us from being hopeful; yet, when the whole globe partakes in hope, it becomes more real for many.

My hope for all of us in 2011 is that we remember there is hope in every new day, each new encounter, and in the strength of the relationships we have built with the people who surround us through both the good and the bad times that we go through.

Having love and friendship in our lives on a daily basis are some of the most important gifts we are given. Though it's nice to unwrap gifts on Christmas day, it's important that we appreciate the gifts we are blessed with all year long.

For me, before I go to bed each night and give thanks and say my prayers, I review myself and how I think I did that day, what I did better, where I fell short, and then I forgive myself; perhaps for being short with someone, or not listening enough for example, and then I say : "Father, though I know you knew I would stumble today, I thank you for allowing me to be who you want me to be tomorrow."

What do you do on a regular basis to stay hopeful? I would love to hear ways to remain positive and encouraging. So if you would like to share some of the things you do, I think many of us would be grateful to hear them...God Bless, be safe, and have a hopeful, positive, encouraging week....Patricia©

  1. I thrive and am alive and can rejoice because of my relationship I have with my Father. Without Him I would be a mess..I am thankful for every day and for the opportunity to continue living out life..

  2. Greetings, Patricia! In answer to your question about how I remain hopeful and positive: It is to ALWAYS be grateful for the things I have, not the things I don't have. I know many people cry for what they do NOT have, but I, for one, always try to stay positive and grateful for everything with which God has blessed me. I never take anything for granted and I thank Him every day. Blessings to you and yours in 2011, Patricia!

  5. First of all, thanks for visiting one of my blogs.

The hope I get everyday is knowing that God is always there for me. He is alot closer to us than we realize. It helps to meditate on his words and promises. This is how I get through my toughest days.

You have a beautiful blog. I will follow you and hope you do the same. Here is my main blog. Lets get connected.

  6. I know that the Lord is with me in all things. I learned a long time ago that no matter what is going on in my life each day I will remember that..."This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it"...He for sure knows better than I do what is best for me so I rejoice, thank him and leave the rest to him.

Very good post. I am glad you found my blog so I could find yours. Hugs and blessings!

  7. Well, hmmmm.... I thank God each morning for the new day and usually don't let the day before dampen what I am looking forward to today - life.
