********Some Days Are Tough*******

Not every day goes according to plan. Some days we get up and we think this is going to be a wonderful day; and then out of nowhere something goes terribly wrong. I got a very disturbing call a week or so ago, one of my very dear friends found out she has breast cancer. It is so important for both men and woman to be checked regularly, as my friend never missed her annual appointment. Since there was family history of cancer she decided to take the gene test which can inform you whether you carry the gene for cancer or not. When the results came back, unfortunately they were positive, so my friend decided to do what she felt was necessary.

A few days ago my dear friend had a major operation, and her journey back will be long and emotional. It's so strange how quickly life can change, one minute you're making plans to take a vacation, and the next, a routine doctor's appointment alters your life forever.

I'm not saying that we all don't have problems, but sometimes  the things that seem so insurmountable are really just molehills in our life. If something isn't a matter of life or death, then it's really just an ordinary problem.

I know that some of us worry about losing our jobs,  our houses, are things, and those are real concerns, however, when it affects our health those concerns become insignificant. I say this because if we are not healthy, it doesn't matter whether we own a house, have a business or have a great job, even money in the bank becomes moot, though it may help pay a portion of the medical care, what good does it do for "us"? Because without our health nothing else matters.

So today I will be saying extra prayers for my dear friend, and I will be saying a prayer for all of us, because sometimes it's really hard for us to realize that outside her own little worlds, there are some pretty upsetting circumstances that we can only fathom, that others are enduring on a daily basis.

Most of us have experienced some kind of loss in our lifetime, as well as illness, and though at the time we felt the devastation and the depth of that pain, those of us who have been able to get ourselves back together and get on with our lives, choose to block those unfathomable times of our lives. In reality, we should embrace our strength and endurance and give back the support we found when we needed it.

May 2011 bring Good health and strength to us all, and may we take out time in our busy lives to remember those who made need a friendly chat, or a visit, or perhaps even a surprise dinner so they don't have to cook.

God Bless us all and keep us in His loving arms and protection...Happy New Year Patricia© xx

  1. Oh how sad. I will pray for your friend for God gave us the best weapon around and that is prayer. Even I, who am a stranger to you and your friend can wield this powerful weapon in defence of your friend.

    God bless,
