*******Count your Blessings*******

Now a days it's very easy for all of us to take stock of the things we don't have, and the things we may be losing due to the economy. We're all so caught up in our life adjustments and sacrifices that we're forgetting to count and take stock of what we do have.

Believe it or not we all have blessings in our lives no matter what our circumstances are. It's just we get so caught up in everyday life that we forget to look around at the things that really matter.

If we have a loving family we are hugely blessed. If we have our health, we've struck gold; and if we get a chance to awake the next morning, we are blessed with the chance at a brand new beginning.

We take for granted the little things, like finding a parking spot right out front of where we need to be when it's freezing cold, or the fact that we get to be in a warm house and share our holiday with people we care about. All of these things are real blessings that we all seem to write off as things we're entitled to, and not things we are blessed with.

This year, though it has been really rough physically, I have been abundantly blessed with meeting and making many new friends, some that live extremely far away and who I have yet to meet in person; but they have been there for me by phone and Internet, as if we've been friends all our lives.

It still amazes me when I make real friends as an adult. Sure as children we make friends with the neighborhood kids, and then our school friends, but for me there is something special about the friends we make in our adult life.

I think it's because as adults our lives are so busy and hectic, that when I meet someone who is willing to set time aside and put such energy, effort, and time into building a friendship, it really is a true blessing.

For me it isn't the things we collect in life. Things come and go, but love, sharing, and caring remain with us for always. We are each others blessings. We have the ability to share our journey's and spread the wisdom we acquire through each lesson.

God has said over and over again the greatest of these gifts is love. Love is the greatest blessing we were given, and it's something we all possess no matter what our station may be in life...how great is that?

My hope for all of us this holiday season is that we remember to give thanks for the real  blessings in our life; and that we all get back to the basics that seem to have been misplaced.

Love our neighbors as ourselves, which, I believe simply means, give of ourselves to whomever we can, whenever we can. God Bless and Happy Holidays Patricia©
