God Speaks To Us When We're Still

Psalm 46:10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

When we are still we can hear God speak to us. He filled us with the Holy Spirit so that the wisdom we would need to discern what He wants us to hear would be possible. He knows each of His children on a first name basis and knows each of our needs and capabilities.
Therefore, the purpose He has for each of us to fulfill is as unique as we are. It is so important for us to remember His promise that He would never leave us nor forsake us.'

When things are smooth giving thanks is easy, however, when our trials are upon us we forget to call upon the Holy Spirit immediately, giving room to the attacker to trick us into believing we have been abandoned. Remember what he tells us in in 1Thessalonians 5:18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

I have had a very challenging path, as some of you who have read my book know, but I always knew my loving Father had me in His loving embrace. Even during the times I wavered I knew in my heart that the Holy Spirit was within me waiting for me to be still so He could direct my path.

The Lord speaks to us through His word which is why no matter what we may be going through we must read His word daily. Not only does it tell us all about our Father but it holds the answer to every possible scenario our life may take. When we call upon the Holy Spirit who relays our conversation to and from the Father we are reminded that God knew we could not handle this world on our own as told in
Acts 2:38  Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

What an awesome gift to be given, to know that even if we are single we are never alone, never a reason to be afraid, or to doubt, that all will in God's perfect time, be abundant and eventually everlasting.  It just makes you want to sing and praise His Holy name.

So when we begin this week let us remember that we are not alone and that we are here for a purpose which our Father needs us to complete. Let us remember that through His Grace we will be with Him for all of eternity, with perfect bodies,in want and need for nothing. I pray the strength, wisdom, and comfort of the Holy Spirit is felt by all of us this week and that we continue to spread God's love and light to all those who cross our Path. Love, hugs, and prayers Patricia

May the below poem from my upcoming book "Poems of the Eternal Heart a Daily Devotional" bring you inspiration and encouragement.

The Path

As we walk and stumble down our path,
we should always keep in mind,
that all the answers that we seek,
are there for us to find.

For our loving Father knows our needs,
and has supplied us with a key,
knowing the Holy Spirit while on earth,
Is how it has to be.

For this world is just a stop for us,
it's not our home at all,
but we are here to complete a task,
and await our Savior's call.

When our Father sacrificed His son,
He knew it was the only way,
to know that death was overcome,
and we would all unite one day.

So on those days when we're wondering,
if we had to endure such loss,
we all need to kneel and remember why,
our Savior hung upon that cross.....

  1. Enjoyed the post. It can be very hard to not give up when things are bad but we really mustn't. I have had times in the past when I really, really wondered if I should just give up. Glad I didn't even in the most horrible parts of my life!

  2. We talked about this very thing in adult education before church this morning. How do we listen to God? How do we stop the inner chatter long enough to hear? When we can, then we know we are not alone.

Simply love that. I agree wholeheartedly. I am single and I rest in HIS love and promises. He is the only one that I know for certain has my very best interest at heart.

Love for a great day beautiful one.

Thank goodness this world is "just a stop" for us. It would be too hard to think of it as the final destination.

We know God has something much better for us! :)
